Bed & Breakfast with ABC Families

“a homey alternative with a benefit”

One of ABC’s most successful fundraisers, the ABC Bed & Breakfast program offers unique, home-based lodging to parents of Phillips Academy students during two popular weekends - Parents Weekend (usually in October) and Graduation Weekend (usually the first weekend in June).

What do we offer? Friends of ABC of Andover host an out-of-town PA parent or family in a guest bedroom for one or two nights, or more depending on the hosts' availability. Although the host for the weekend usually offers breakfast, Phillips Academy also offers all meals so some visitors choose that option instead.

What is the cost? The PA parents pay the going rate for hotel space in the form of a check to ABC but they get a home environment, a location that is often closer to the school and get to meet a local family. For example, $120/night for a double with a private bath, $115/night for a shared bath, $105/night for a single with a private bath, $100/night for a shared bath. Checks should be made out to A Better Chance of Andover. Any extra contribution is tax deductible.

Who do I contact? Martha Grant is the B&B program coordinator who matches guests and hosts to ensure the right mix of beds and to avoid any problems with pet allergies. Martha can also review the criteria for becoming a Bed & Breakfast partner.
